What did you do before joining CTB?
Prior to joining Castle Trust Bank, I held roles in Procurement and Supplier Management at UKCloud Ltd and Knowledgepool Ltd (now Capita Learning).
What attracted you to working for CTB?
I enjoy working in small to medium-sized companies that have a clear vision for growth and a healthy people culture. I also value businesses with meaningful connections to their people and community. Additionally, there is the advantage of having a short 10-minute commute to work.
What roles have you had since joining CTB?
Just the one (for now)… Head of Procurement.
What attracted you to the role that you are in today?
Like many of my colleagues in Procurement, I came into this profession somewhat unintentionally. I appreciate the diverse opportunities it offers to collaborate with various departments and suppliers to address challenges. I value the connections and relationships we build when engaging third parties to perform tasks on our behalf. Regarding CTB, I was drawn to the opportunity to work in a different industry, the specific challenge of 3rd party risk management in a highly regulated industry and our company values.
What (and why) do you enjoy most about the role that you do?
No 2 days are the same – the privilege to work on and support different exciting initiatives. The autonomy I enjoy in my role. I work with a lot of very talented and motivated colleagues. Seeing the impact of my team’s contribution to business objectives.
What have you found challenging about your current role?
Balancing my inherent drive for continual improvement and change with the equally important need to sustain business-as-usual Procurement operations.
What training and development opportunities have you / are you receiving?
I am presently enrolled in the ILM-accredited Leadership & Behavioural Change Programme. Additionally, I have the opportunity to participate in various other courses and workshops.
What are your future career aspirations?
I envision myself continuing to lead the procurement & supplier team, potentially expanding my role into operations.
How would you describe the culture here at CTB?
We have a “can-do” culture here at the bank and people are generally kind and helpful.
What makes CTB a unique place to work?
The people and opportunities to make meaningful contributions.
